"I See Beauty..."
‘In my work I investigate interiors as psychological signifiers, as mirrors of their inhabitants ~ a portrait, is never complete unless we take a look at choices. We can identify the wealthy, the convivial, the dying. These choices are what interest me, as they are also proofs of a woman’s touch in the patriarch’s temple. Here, these newly emancipated women decorate unencumbered. Look at the images, explore, look again. I am fascinated by women ~ so I wanted to photograph their energy, as they embodied archetypes visible in their ‘insides’. For me, recording decoration and its female creator gives off a feeling not unlike winning petite victories over the oppressor, again and again.’
